The Fourth of July at the Lake of the Ozarks

There is no place like the Lake of the Ozarks to spend your fourth of July weekend. With golfing galore, 1,100 miles of shoreline, and two state parks for picnicking and hiking it’s no wonder thousands will flock to the lake for their holiday celebration. If you are looking for a spectacular fireworks show look no further than the Lake.

If you don’t plan on catching the view from your boat then spectators can watch fireworks from the convenience of the hood of their cars at Captain Ron’s for a small parking fee. Windermere is offering an $8.00 Bar-B-Q dinner in the dining hall and then you can stay to enjoy the show for free. Other places providing free parking are both the Lake Valley Golf and Country Club and Toad Cove.

How about doing something a little unexpected? Why not enjoy the fireworks from the air-conditioned comfort of a luxury cruise ship such as the Celebration or Tropic Island Cruise ship? Both will board at 7:30 and you will want to call ahead to make your reservations.

Fireworks begin at dusk or approximately 9:30. No matter how you choose to celebrate this Independence Day let the Lake of the Ozarks be your playground. I want to wish everyone a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

Happy 4th of July!

What Do Your Wall Colors Say About You?

They say a person’s favorite color can say a lot about their personality. So I was thinking that if agents paid attention to the colors of the walls in a home when we are at a listing appointment they just might give us insight as to the kind of clients we will be working with. What do your walls say about you?

Walls painted…

White: White represents sterility, purity, innocence, freshness and simplicity. You must be simple right to work with right?

Red: Red is the color of strength. This color is usually chosen by aggressive, outgoing and impulsive individuals. They may be athletic and have a zest for life. These people are usually optimistic therefore bringing positive energy to the selling field. However, if you love red and your real estate agent loves red you just might see red!

Pink: Pink is tranquil and symbolizes love and affection without the passion. These people like to feel loved and secure. Share the love with your agent.

Orange: Orange appeals to fun loving and very social people. These people usually get along well with others are good natured, popular and try hard to be agreeable. You would be a fun client!

Yellow: Yellows go with the flow. This is the color of happiness, intellectual, cheerful and optimistic. They usually have a strong sense of humor and a good business head on their shoulders. Sounds like my kind of client!

Green: Green symbolizes nature, calm, relaxing and restful. It is the color of harmony creating balance. This color also represents hope and peace. These people tend to be affectionate, moral, and loyal. Security and stability are important to them and they finish what they start. You will be in it for the long run!

Blue: Blues are faithful, compassionate and caring. They are self-controlled, patient and sensitive, but are often worriers and can be too cautious, and suspicious. You may need me to take you by the hand and help you make decisions.

Purple: Purple is eclectic. These people are witty individuals with a strong sense to be unique and different. They love wealth and sophistication and may be artistic. I may want to hire you to decorate my home=)

Brown: Browns tend to be very solid, conscientious, dependable, reliable and kind. These clients will have stamina and patience for the long run, but can be inflexible. Scheduling showings may be difficult, but when you say “Sure, come on over.” I can rely on you to have a clean home.

Gray: Grays are cool and professional. They are characterized as having good business abilities and work too much with little reward. Gray is the color of caution and compromise so you will probably be able to close the deal!

Black: Black symbolizes authority and power submissive. They have the appearance of being dignified and private without being flashy. You will gladly let me take the reign and handle my business.

What if the walls were already painted when you bought the house? What are they saying about you? Do you need to paint=) Maybe you should consider asking a real estate agent what their favorite color is before you schedule that appointment…LOL!

Dogwood Festival: Spring is Here!

This weekend is a special weekend here at the Lake of the Ozarks. Residents and visitors alike will be celebrating the blossoming of spring by attending the Dogwood Festival located right here in Camdenton, MO; also known as “the quiet side” of the lake. This year’s theme is “Lovin’ the Lake.” With so many activities, attractions and majestic views here in the Ozarks I find it hard NOT to fall in love with the Lake.

The flowering Dogwood was named Missouri’s state tree on June 20, 1955. Loved for its vibrant colors this red, white or pink tree is relatively small and grows quickly. To learn more about the legend of the Dogwood tree be sure to visit the following link: http://maxhunter.missouristate.edu/songinformation.aspx?id=1137

This years Dogwood festival runs from Thursday, April 14 through Sunday, April 17th. Some of the favorite activities are the Carnival, Miss Dogwood Pageant, the Dogwood Parade, Pancake Breakfast, 5K Walk/Run, Craft Show and Sunday’s Annual Golf Classic. For a complete itinerary please visit the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce website at: http://www.camdentonchamber.com/DogwoodFestival.

So if you are looking for a fun way to spend your weekend be sure to come on out to the Dogwood Festival and have a great time.

Happy Weekend!
